Mike Tyson And Dana White Join The Chorus Reacting To Ronda Rousey’s Suicide Comments

Ronda Rousey opened up a lot of eyes by confessing that she had suicidal thoughts immediately following her loss to Holly Holm. Certainly, Rousey’s defeat was shocking in and of itself, seeing as she was (and perhaps still is) among the most dominant fighters in MMA, male or female. But that Rousey went that direction speaks to just how hard she took the loss.

Holm and Brock Lesnar have already commented on Rousey’s thoughts, though it should be noted that Holm did the right thing by kind of/sort of refusing to comment at all. UFC president Dana White, on the other hand, went with a more openly supportive route.

“Trust me, she’s good right now and in a great place. Winners don’t like to lose,” White told TMZ. “I have never worked an athlete like her! She is f*cking amazing in every way.”

Similarly, Tyson downplayed Rousey’s comments. “No, it’s just a moment in time. She doesn’t feel that way now,” Tyson said (via Fox Sports).

Everyone will have a reaction to Rousey’s comments. Not only is she the most recognizable face in the sport at the moment, she made a bold statement about a serious subject matter. But it’s also worth noting that everyone would deal with what Rousey is going through differently. She just happened to take it extremely hard. It would be wrong to trivialize her comments by saying that she didn’t actually mean them or that she was just experiencing a moment. She felt how she felt and it shouldn’t be taken lightly.

The good thing is that Rousey is already back training for her next fight. The rematch against Holm is scheduled for later this year.
