On the morning of May 19th, American news watchers were greeted with an early morning report of a missing plane. Specifically, flight EgyptAir MS804 disappeared flying between Paris and Cairo, and reports indicate that the plane went off radar approximately 10 miles into Egyptian airspace.

News coverage went on throughout the day, and for most of the morning news outlets such as FOX and CNN speculated as to whether the disappearance was caused by some mechanical failure, or an incident of terrorism. By about noon EST, a top Egyptian official said it was more likely that this was a terror incident, and many security pundits on each news show agreed.

However, Donald Trump had already taken to twitter earlier that morning (at about 6AM EST) and declared that the attack was indeed terror based.

The pundits mentioned Trump’s comments as well. They admonished him for jumping to conclusions, stating that he should not make potentially dangerous comments when he is not being advised on such matters by any experts.

They said this while at the same time reporting that he was, at least probably, 100% correct.

Trump is no stranger to these amazing predictions. He famously wrote about the prudence of watching Osama Bin Laden like a hawk. He predicted the negative fallout from the war in Iraq. He warned against the dangerous of letting Belgium fall to an invading culture.

How does the Donald do it?! Have all those years of running the great Taj Mahal casino given him psychic powers to better play the odds on any outcome? Does some business savvy super gene run through the great Trump bloodline, granting them clairvoyance as they rise through the ranks of the wealthy elite? Does he put CHEMICAL X in his spray tan?

While that last one may excite some of us longing to imbue our real world crushes with the abilities of The Powerpuff Girls, the reality of the situation is probably much more grounded. Trump isn’t psychic, he’s just using and acknowledging the information that most of the public, and all of the TV pundits, have been trained over the last 10 years to ignore, lest they be outed as racists on air.

Let’s look at the case of flight MS804 once again. Here are some common sense facts that you probably already knew within moments of hearing the news of this latest airborne tragedy:

  1. The flight departed from Paris, a recent terrorist target.
  2. The flight was bound for Egypt, a place of violence and much recent political instability.
  3. The flight had 3 security officials on it.
  4. The flight was Eastbound, toward the general direction of the Middle East.

Riddle me this, Batman: if Donald Trump was aware of these four facts prior to sending out his tweet (and he probably was) is it really such a stretch to assume that the destruction of MS804 was terror related?

Don’t get me wrong. At the time of this writing, technical error has not been ruled out as the cause of MS804 going down. But that certainly didn’t stop all major news outlets from putting the word TERROR in their headlines while they speculated over the details of the incident, while at the same time admonishing Donald Trump for essentially beating them to the punch.

Trump appeals to the average American because he says the things that the average American knows and wants to say, but has long been forbidden to say by society. He is allowed to point out terrorist cells hiding amongst Muslim communities. He is allowed to label radical and sympathetic Islam as an enemy to the United States and the west at large. Trump is allowed to call a spade a spade, for lack of a better term, because he’s already rich. He can’t be fired from his company, unlike the rest of us. And so he has the privilege to state the obvious when even the most famous journalists are chained away from doing the same, while obvious truths stare them in the face from dusk till dawn. I almost pity their poor souls.

And Trump? Well, his freedom to jump to conclusions with overwhelming accuracy is what earned him the loving internet moniker of “The Nimble Navigator”. When the media and Trump’s political opponents scratch their heads as to how he is able to stay two steps ahead of him, the last place they want to look is the very social construct of shame they themselves have built.

This is also where the phrase “The Silent Majority Stands with Trump” came from. You can cling to statistics about education and the intelligence of Trump supporters all you want. The reality is that they know which way the wind blows, and they have always known. These people bowed out of the past two elections because they knew they couldn’t win against the left’s ace in the hole. Barack Obama was popular and black, and there was no standing against him socially (obviously anyone who didn’t support Obama was racist). Now Obama will soon be gone, and Hillary Clinton does not have the charisma or the progressive momentum on her side. She THINKS she does, first woman president and all, but that doesn’t work after a black man had two terms and didn’t bring about world peace. Americans already did their good deed for the millennium, twice.

So when Trump comes out with these outlandish (but not really) statements, understand that the gasping and shocked gazes from the TV pundits are just that: TV. In the real world, Trump knows exactly what we know. And believe it or not, he has a brain. So do we. And we agree with him.
